Consolidating forests through United Forestry Group will enable you to enjoy the benefits of economies of scale

Two New Zealand shareholders are directors of the company. They are well-regarded forest industry experts Hamish Levack and Kelly Coghlan.

Superpen, a joint venture between leading international timber marketer Pentarch of Australia and major Chinese conglomerate Xiangyu Group will be represented on the board of the New Zealand company by Malcolm McComb, Chairman of Pentarch, and Li Xiongwen of Xiangyu Group. The JV's combined global resources, international networks and expertise in forestry, transport and shipping, logistics and operations provide significant backing for the new entity.

Malcolm McComb, Chairman of Pentarch, is United Forestry Group’s acting Managing Director and spokesman.

 

Kelly Coghlan

Kelly Coghlan

Kelly Coghlan is Principal of Anchor Management and formerly worked for Fletcher Challenge Forests. A member of the NZ Institute of Forestry, Kelly has been involved in the commercial harvesting and marketing of private forests for over twenty-years. He offers extensive experience and knowledge in all aspects of maximising private forests at maturity.

Hamish Levack

Hamish Levack

Hamish Levack is a significant Southern North Island forest owner, a Fellow of the NZ Institute of Forestry and a Registered Forestry Consultant. Previously, he held senior Government positions ranging from developing forest policy to managing 70,000 hectares of exotic forests. He is a past Editor of the NZ Journal of Forestry and the NZIF Forestry Handbook, and was the lead author of an influential book tracing the political history of New Zealand forestry and its implications. Currently he is a National Executive member of the NZ Farm Forestry Association. He has served on the Council of the NZ Institute of Forestry, and represented the NZFFA on the 2013 Board that established the Forest Growers Levy Trust.

Henry Lin

After graduating from college in New Zealand Henry worked in Christchurch for five years and came back to China as Logs Project Direct of Superchain. Henry oversees and provides insights on wood supply, distribution, production and market dynamics in China. During his many years in the wood products industry, Henry has travelled to all major softwood lumber producing and consuming countries and regions in the world.

Li Xiongwen

Li Xiongwen is the Director of Investment and Management Division for Xiangyu Group Corporation, one of the partners of the JV Superpen which is a significant investor in United Forestry Group. Mr Li has an extensive background in enterprise investment and administration with the Xiangyu Group.

Malcolm McComb

Malcolm McComb

Malcolm has extensive experience in all aspects of International Trade. As Chairman of the Pentarch Group of companies, Malcolm has overall responsibility for the strategic direction, governance and performance of the Company and has been closely involved (both strategically and operationally) in establishing and developing the Company’s softwood pine export operations. Malcolm is also a director of Superpen, the joint venture between Pentarch and Xiangyu, which is a significant shareholder in United Forestry Group.
